When Normal Isn't Optimal

Overview - RSVP HERE

A Clinical Approach to Men's Hormones and Sexual Health

What if your lab work says you’re “normal,” but you still don’t feel like yourself?

In this educational session, Nurse Practitioner Shelby Sheppard breaks down how modern men’s health care goes beyond reference ranges to focus on how you feel, how you function, and your long-term health. Hormones, sexual health, cardiovascular risk, energy, and metabolism are deeply connected — and understanding those links can be the difference between simply getting by and truly feeling well.

This talk will explore how clinicians assess men’s hormonal and sexual health through a functional, evidence-based lens — including when testosterone therapy may be appropriate, when it isn’t, and why erectile dysfunction is often an early sign of broader health concerns rather than an isolated issue.

What you’ll walk away with:

  • A clearer understanding of why “normal” lab values don’t always equal optimal health

  • Insight into how testosterone therapy is evaluated and individualized in clinical practice

  • An overview of alternative and supportive treatment options beyond testosterone

  • Clarity around common myths and misinformation in men’s health

  • What current research says about testosterone therapy and cardiovascular risk

  • Why erectile dysfunction is often a marker of overall health — not just sexual performance

This session is designed for men who want to better understand their health and for anyone interested in evidence-based, individualized approaches to improving function, quality of life, and long-term outcomes.
